Overtime

Overtime is a short horror film, the first of its kind for Jash Productions. The story features three friends working late in a warehouse, when a malevolent entity begins to torment them.

Ooh Arr West Country News

Dick Trickle, Barry Cramp and Stan Flap bringing you all the current, up-to-date, live, real time news from the west of England. On the hour, in the hour, of the hour, by the hour, all the time, every minute, sixty times an hour, the Ooh Arr news team strive for excellence, entertainment value, affordability, and accuracy, all in that order.

This was a much longer shoot, totally approximately 7 hours one Saturday in July. Simon went a bit crazy with the wigs, and the ill-fitting waistcoat lived in the back of my wardrobe (I don’t remember buying it), but it all came together in the end…err, sort of.

The Duplicator

We have all at once wondered what it would be like to split the chores with another "you". But when Simon invents a machine capable of producing multiple duplicates, then mayhem, murder and madness ensue.

This took a year before we were finally able to wrap on it, and even now the ending feels slightly rushed. I was pushing the limit of my CGI knowledge to try and tell a tale that was, quite frankly, super bonkers (as most of Simon Horne’s ideas eventually turn out to be).

Truest Real Stories

A parody of the traditional documentary format? Or an expose of one of Simon Horne’s many psychological conditions? You decide.

Friendsh*t

This short was made with an idea to test our limits…and test them we did. Choreographed fighting and dance scenes, demonic eardrum bursting laughter, super powers…this short has it all. An FX ensemble, this is the insane world of Jash Productions at its chaotic and kaleidoscopic best.

Friendsh*t 2.0

A sequel to Friendsh*t, this was our chance to spread our sci-fi VFX wings. Set in a "possible" future, hand to hand combat is considered primitive...so this gave us license to come up with all manner of bizarre gadgets including (but not limited to): rocket slippers, hologram suits, rocket packs, and what we like to think of as the "gyrobuddy".

Ouija-Geist

Michelle has inadvertently become trapped in a realm that Rachel calls the Dark Outerness. Can the three friends find a way to save Michelle from her disastrous trip to the cursed bathroom for a number two?

Filmed in 3 hours in Michelle’s flat, this was a seat of the pants project. There was no shot list, no storyboard; it was purely what was in my head, and had to be juggled between people coming and going, and in the middle an hour long break for a meal (you can’t film on an empty stomach). Besides some props, and additional green screen footage shot later, this was completed in those stressful three hours.
